Final Project

For my final project, I decided to combine two of my favorite things about the internet: League of Legends, and memes. League of Legends is a team-based strategy game developed by Riot Games, which revolves around five players on two separate teams each controlling a unique character. Each character has…

Circle clicker video game

For my game, you have 10 seconds to click the purple circle as it changes position randomly. A few problems that I ran into while making the game were that the circle would get stuck behind the score and timer, making it harder to click, and the timer not being able to be turned off, rather just reset every time the start button is clicked. My high score is 20. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/511207169/

Terms of Service

After reading the articles, I’m not shocked that most people don’t read terms of service before signing up for certain things such as computer/phone applications, or loyalty cards from drugstores. To read through every terms of service you agree to would be too time consuming and businesses will take advantage by placing loopholes which you may never think of into their terms and conditions. Personally I do not know a single person who scrolls through every single terms and conditions from which they come across. The majority usually scrolls past all the long, boring text and readily clicks the accept button out of habit. I have not experienced a consequence from loopholes within terms and services that has dramatically had an effect on my life, so I will probably continue what I am doing with habitually skip reading the terms and conditions for applications.

Rebuild The Internet

The representation I decided upon to represent the internet was a tree. I chose a tree to represent the constant growth of information and how knowledge branches out into different areas. I drew a brain at the trunk of the tree to show that the internet stems from human knowledge. There are lightbulbs hanging from the tree to represent the new ideas people obtain from use of the internet. The tree resides on earth meaning that is where the internet lives.

What is the Internet?

Some may argue that the internet leads to laziness, but I would beg to differ as I think it leads to better productivity and opens up opportunities that wouldn’t be possible without it. …

Response to “The Veldt”

The Veldt exemplifies the negative consequences that may arise from technological advances. The short story involves parents who purchase an automated house that does everything a person needs in their everyday life. This includes a nursery which functioned to keep the children occupied and content by bringing their imagination to life. The parents want to shut off the automated house and go to a more traditional lifestyle, which involves a lot more work. They feel as though the technology is making them unhappy and taking away their fulfilment in life. This causes a rift between the parents and their children as the children argue otherwise saying that they want to enjoy their carefree lifestyle. In the end, the parents are killed by the nursery due to the stubbornness and devious intentions of the children.
